          beach shelter

I wouldn't go fishing without one of these shelters in my holdall, mine is a John Holden Trident model but same as RT shelter.
When you out in really bad weather sleet/snow/heavy rain/strong winds/temps down below- 0,a good set of waterproofs is no match to these shelters.
Sitting under these shelters in bad weather also keep your gear/bait from blowing away in strong winds, and you are kept warm and dry.
Fishing at night I use a storm lantern just to add a bit more comfort, and hot pies in silver foil on top of the lamp to complete the job.

I can't speak how easy this shelter unfolds and how heavy it is to carry but mine unpacks in less than 30sec and is up and working in under a min,it doesn't need guide ropes as its free standing, just a little sand on the bottom flaps......rock solid unlike a brolly that blows awayin the wind to easy.

Even fishing flat beaches I use mine because its so easy to lift and move, just like moving your box back up the shoreline.

For the money of under £40 for the RT shelter,I think I'll go and get one just to keep as a spare......thanks for the heads up.
          Cheers H

Do you think it would fit on the side of a rod hold all or in a salt rucksack when packed down?

I strap mine to the side of my holdall, Kenny.

Watch this video for an idea:
YouTube - Get on down !! ron thmpson beach shelter

There are also clips on there showing you how they go up. I use a bucket to weigh the skirts down with sand in seconds, making a solid shelter.

There's a comment above about not being suitable for a flat beach. I don't really get that. I use mine on flat beaches.

                    RT shelter

Kenny.....my shelter packs away into my holdall with my rods, looking at the demo on u tube it looks like the RT shelter comes with it,s own bag and carry strap,so would think you could just use it as that.
                    Cheers H

                      Hi Kenny

I have had my RT shelter now for two years cracking piece of kit for the money - one night it was bleaching down with snow fishing on south shields pier near the first gate- everyone was starting to pack becasue of the snow in but I was as warm as toast in the shelter - easy to put up
