Can someone tell me which of these are correct.

I've been using these sizes here nfsa-size-limits

but just found these via another post MINIMUM+SIZES.PDF

Some are the same but some are different i.e. Bass limit is 5cms less on the new one. Which one should I follow??

    cheers

The second set are the legal size limits for whitefish, most clubs, angling bodies recognise that these are rediculous and have their own size limits above the legal limits. In the case of bass the legal limit is below the size where bass reach spawning age. As you will have seen from a lot of catch reports, many anglers now have their own size limits where they keep fish, some put all their fish back, so as long as the fish you keep are above the legal limit, there should be no problem.

Like Alan says, the only size limits that matter are the ones set by the local sea fisheries committee as these are the LEGAL minimum size.

All others (the NFSA ones for example) are just recommendations and have zero basis in law. What they do however is confuse anglers many of whom think they are a legal size limit when in fact they are not.

It is also worth noting that for any fish not on the NESFC list there is NO legal minimum size limit. I'm not for one minute suggesting you start keeping 10cm Flounders or Dab but there is no legal reason not to - but for any fish not on the NESFC list what you keep is between you and you conscience.
