It was Blyth pier actually mate, a few years ago now like. Me and wor kid had been fishing their and at the end of the sesh I just thought I'd have a chuck over to cambois off the end of the south pier, no bait on it was just to see how far I could get. Anyway hit it towards the end, never expected it to go that far or I wouldn't have done it. Like I said though the wind was with me and I was younger but the point I was making was that the sl30 is not just a good rough ground reel but also an excellent casting one, it's nice to hear the tone change when it goes that far. Oh by the way the rod was a 13' moonraker Z.

No way to prove it then? Just your word for it lol. It would help if you said someone seen you do it. Make up a family member and pretend they were there.

              7000

If the reel is a dark red colour with bands round the edges it came out about the same time as the ABU 7200 and has alloy side plates, built somewhere between the late 90's and mid 2000's, the early bright red 7000 did not have bands with the capacity on and had bushes instead of bearings, your reel might be a 7000C3 it should say on the black band on the left hand side plate
