Boat house whitley bay advice

Planning on giving this a shot in the foreseable future and just wondering where people mainly fish from next to it, as their is a couple of shots what look decent. Also is it a high water or low water shot. I know there is some sort of paving slabs maybe an old launch ramp thing which goes out to sea which looks like a canny low water shot. I have only fished it once and thats when i didnt really have a clue about fishing (still dont ) and was told that there is a canny high water shot about 20 yrds to the right of it, not sure how true this is.
Any advice on fishing it much appreciated.

The Boat Station is a high water shot mate; you can fish either side - some people prefer the left, some the right. It's best fished with a good northerly sea running & best avoided if there's been any southerly / south-easterlies blowing in as it can get badly chokka with weed. Be aware that on the bigger tides you can get pushed right up against the cliffs, so if fishing the right hand side be prepared to scramble up & along the back of the boat-station to get back to the ramp. You can fish from the ramp, but personally I find it a bit confining and it won't be too comfortable if there's anyone else there. Best bet then is to move around and fish from the prom, the bottom corner being a popular shot.

Fish can be at any range, so it's worth varying your distance till hopefully you find the fish. Baits I'd want with me would be lugworm, crab and sometimes razor (especially in a big sea). Probably best to use a rotten-bottom on your rig as well.

Low water marks there include the Railway - only accessible on biggest of tides & extremely dodgy these days, much of it having crumbled away, I certainly wouldn't recommend it for a first time visit (it's the structure you see running out to sea straight in front of the station itself - two parallel lines of rock / masonry). Other low water shot is one of my favourite Whitley shots, Skitters Skeers. This can be found just to the south of the Boat Station, bordering the lagoon to the right. This shot is generally accessible half tide or so down, moving along the skeers as the tide drops back. It's best fished on not too big a tide as it'll empty out - around a metre or so ebb is about right. Fish it with shortish chucks (around 40 yards or so in front of the 1st weed bed) or clip one down and bray it as far as you can to fish the back of the weeds.

All these marks best fished at night (especially the low water shots) but with a big sea on it can throw up fish during the day at high tide - I seem to remember someone had on around 14lb or so early last year during the daytime.
