flippin eck, normality! Glad to see you TC

One of the problems, IMHO, in terms of seeing condemnation might be down to me.

As the thread progressed, there were some pretty viscious things said, but there was also condemnation. I wanted to just lock the thread to nip it in the bud, but, with the mod priveleges I\'ve got it wouldn\'t let me lock the thread, all I had the power to do was delete it and the follow up threads that started, So the situation was that there was condemnation, but not everyone got to see it.

I know some members felt that the deletion had been because of what they said, and were rightly cheesed off. Not so.

my reason to delete them was I wanted rid of all comments which had Legal implications, as tony explained above, and I had explained elsewhere as well. But even the thread where I highlighted those points began to get hijacked so that got deleted too and so on

So if my haste to delete, caused some of the confusion and ill feeling, sincere apologies all round, I was acting in the best interests of NESA with what tools I had to hand.

It seems everyone is now back that ought to be back so I hope alls well that ends well

A salutory lesson to us all

                here\'s to pastures new!

                Thought for the day:
Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything but bring a smile to your face when thrown down the stairs

Converting an MFV Fifie trawler type thing.

Good to see you back Tony.

Had I seen the post I would have condemned it, but like a number of other people I didn\'t because I rarely bother with the chat forum.

You stood up for what you believe in and acted on it, which is commendable. Like the saying goes: It is necessary only for the good man to do nothing for evil to triumph.

Thanks for all the \"welcome backs\".
Must say, I was expecting more of a roasting rather than the kind commemnts made.

However, I\'m under no illusions about my role on NESA and I\'m sure it would remain THE top sea angling site, whether I was here or not - it\'s the members who ARE the site, not me.

Dunno if I\'ve mentioned this before but, I used to be a Trade Union Shop Steward for many years. I eventually gave it up because of the total apathy shown by my members. They didn\'t want to know about, or get involved with anything which didn\'t DIRECTLY affect them. When an issue came up which DID affect them, trying to get them to act and do something about it was virtually impossible. They were of the opinion that \"The Union\" should sort it out. Trying to get them to realise that THEY were \"the Union\" was like banging your head on a wall.
It\'s exactly the same set up on here.....YOU are the site, YOU are NESA, not me. If there\'s an issue comes up which threatens the whole base which NESA is built on, then don\'t sit back and wait for \"the Union Steward\" to deal with it.

Sign of the times that Tony , been involved in similar things at work myself over the years ,yep apathy is a distructive thing , in a bite you on the ar*e type way ,usually followed by ...If only I\'d ,or maybe I should have ... anyway I didn\'t see the problem posts but I\'m glad things are going to settle down a bit now and looking forward to many good posts . All the best mate ,and all the lads on here.
