any tips on how to seperate a rod? iv tried frozen peas around the joint for about an hour and have tried boiling water on the joint, both done nothing. the rod did twist a little bit when i tryed to seperate after fishing but nowt happend since.

I was always told to put the rod behind ya knees, then either side of your knees grab the rod so your hand are against the sides of your knees and either side of the joint. grip tight then push your knees out against your hands. hope that makes sense. Or get a helper and hold near the joint, one either side and gently twist in opposite directions.

leave it alone for an hour or two and then go back to it...honest it works

...did the same with a brand new boat rod last year, spent ages riving it about and after my hands were raw with the effort I gave up...went back to it after a while and it came straight apart
      Ooh a new vid!

Yeh mate, walk on and leave it for a while, preferably outside in the cold in a secure location like. If your taking your rod apart and get any movement then you just can't stop, keep it moving at all costs I reckon.

Gary the rod is hollow so if you take the rubber stopper off the end and get a piece of piping you should be able to tap it out from inside.
Mine got stuck recently on my Tip Tornado--fortunatly plenty of wd 40 sprayed on the joint and some twistin got it apart.
I bought some silicone spray and use this on the spigot now.

To get a good grip bicycle inner tube is excellant, cut two pieces and get a friend to help twisting in opposite directions, should come no bother.

try a splash of wd40 on the joint and leave it for half an hour and it should do the trick

As said get a friend to help, my sons rod got stuck fast, I thought it was broke so took it back to shop and it took the blokes a few minutes to get it apart and they were big blokes.
