Newbie Prawn Question

Silly question time.

Prawns as bait, cooked or raw?? Only asking as I'm going out tomorrow and wor lass just bought some cooked prawns from asda, and being a fisherman thought oooooooo I wonder if I can fish with them lol...

Advise asap plz, before we eat them lol

Av used the raw king prawn's from asda had loads of success last season but nowt this season, neva tried cooked prawn's but worth taking some as you neva know?

i sometimes tip off worm baits with cooked prawns, coalies love them.

from time to time uncooked prawn has worked very well on da boat

be suprised at times what will work, saw an old guy and his grandkid one time with a cheap little holiday rod and reel set they'd bought, had never fished before and he'd been told to use herring as a cheap bait - but he'd bought some kippers - they were hauling loads of small coalies etc in!

lol I love experimenting, used to do it a lot when I tied my own flies, had the odd success

ya might as well try mate,used prawn a couple of times last year and had some success,dont be afraid to try different baits/combinations.liver worked when i was younger.

used them on the walkway early last year tipped off with worm baits and had double shots of undersize codling but great sport tho

ive had fish off the shore and boat on asda cooked prawns mate i tie them on with elastic cotton ,youd be surprised,was fishing one night with a mate he had frozen peeler on winters night i had no bait and 3 prawns tied on a pennel and got one over 6 lb he was gobsmacked ,gospel truth

I myself have heard of lads using prawns as bait.Coble Landing and the Call Center..... shots on the Tyne.
