The other member of staff was steven Walton, who actually works in the byker shop not the felling shop. wolud like to know where this rumour has came from. To be honest with you, its is very very rare that I catch fish these days, and I would rather be known as a blanker than a cheater.
Just what a lad on the pier was saying you steve and two other lads, not accusing anyone just asking if 2 shop workers and thete 2 mates havung pier pegs was a coincidence?

Ah it's nee bother mate I was just replying to the post and rumour it's bugger all man, it always feels like when the sea is flat and people catch on pier it's an unjustice to those who fish the beaches, though I did hope for a pier peg. Next year it'll be rough and everybody will be fishing on each others backs on the beach lol, then more drama eh.

Well realistically then you could say 2 moonfleet members and about 50 of their mates on the pier then mate, and also 1 mate fishing the spiles who had a pier ticket and tried to get a swap cos he wasn't going on the pier anyway, but no one swapped him. He is a very good friend of mine, also a member of nesa dave mills ( wolfy dave ) owner of damiltech solutions, and also I had about 20 mates on the south pier, who were my. I have been fishing about 35 years, so yes I have a lot of friends who fish, and from all over the country, so its not so strange that wherever I fish, I know a lot of people. That's not even a coincidence that I knew about 50 people on the pier. Last year I had a ticket for the south pier, my mates lass drew 2 tickets from a pile, one for me, one for him, I got pier ticket, he didn't, its just the luck of the draw, but that's why I never ever draw my own tickets, to avoid accusations like this

I will mention one thing though, I fished the Newbiggin open last Sunday 351 entrants with cash prizes less than the Seaham open, although I love the fact this year's Seaham open was a first prize of heaviest single fish it kept me fishing to the end and I enjoyed it.

next year if I draw a pier peg, I will not draw a peg, I will also not fish the pier, but there will still be rumours around. that's part of life, I just don't like to be accused of something that I have not done

Not accusing you of anything just simply passing on what i was told, pier fishing is ****e, should take the piers out unless disabled,

Usually I fish the amble open, seaham open, and the sunderland open. Basically its a chance for me to catch up with mates who I rarely see as I work 6 days a week.
Done the European open beach a few times in the past, but not in the last 5 years, as I am now at a disadvantage, having had 3 ops on each shoulder,my distance casting suffers. So I tend to stay away when its basically a casting venue

Now I would agree with that, taking the piers out of bounds unless disabled. I also think the tickets should only be on sale from the club house, on the morning of the open, so everything is done out in the open in front of everyone.

I don't think it matters much what you or I say mate, it wont change things, but I will continue to do things as I always have done, with 100% honestly. As long as I know I have done everything legitimately, I have peace of mind
