    BSA Skarnsundet Norway trip Feb-2011

Just came back from a fantastic trip with 7 other lads to Skarnsudet, Norway. The trip was organised through Phil Dale at Welcome to skarnsundet.com
The flights were booked with KLM & we flew from Newcastle to Amsterdam & then from Amsterdam to Trondheim. We got the train from Trondheim to Rora & then got picked up & took onto our accommodation.

We were mainly there for night time shore fishing but Phil said that we could use his 2 boats as long as we put the petrol in.

The shore fishing started slowly for us on the first night but picked up after that.

The scenery in Norway is stunning & as long as you have the correct clothes, -16C is bearable.

The majority of the fish we caught was codling, haddock & coalie.

The best haddock caught was by Jarrow Vicking that weighed in at 7lb 7oz.

The best codling caught by Nicky was a brilliant 25lb.

It was a brilliant trip with 7 great lads. Enjoyed the craic, enjoyed the fishing, loved Norway & can’t wait to go back.

Thanks to Jarrow Viking for organising the trip & Phil Dale at Skarnsundet for being a great guide.
    Welcome to skarnsundet.com
I will only be out for a couple of hours pet.

keep the comments coming lads, think Phil needs a lift, believe it or not, apparently on another site some comments have been less than friendly, I haven't seen them as they have apparently been removed. How could anyone be less than complimentary after seeing lads been looked after so well and put into fish you could only dream of catching here, and given the free use of a two boats to boot. The mind boggles.

There is no need for Phil to get any negative press at all over it as he tried his best and seemed to genuinely care that we werent doing to well. Nothing is too much trouble for the bloke! After all nothing in fishing is guaranteed, Phil cannot magically make you catch huge fish.

Were probably going back next year but in june to do a bit of boat fishing.
Tend to agree the fishing is still very good, the catches of last year were awesome and it appears some seem to think that was the norm, the lad can only do his best,if the fish are not there there little Phil can do about it,cant ever see me going out there,i like the Sun,Drink and Restaurants etc,i will keep doing the Gambia more days for less money seems a good deal...

Great report Brian. Not seen some of them pics. Not as good as last year but i dowt if any group could reproduce that trip as it was magical!!

Still worlds away from the fishing over here and i would be back every year if i could.........it's cheaper next year and you get a week instead of 5 days

Still not got my double so i'll be back trying for it soon
