  • New angling radio show

A new Angling Radio Show will be coming online this coming Saturday (24th October) between 8 am and 9 am. The show can be heard on Home - 104.5 CVFM Radio - Middlesbrough. This is a live link to the website of CVFM Radio, where you can "Listen Live". There will be 'up to the minute' live reports on sea and freshwater. Live from Amble will be Les Weller, from Lynemouth - Peter Thain, Darren McGlen will cover South Shields and the River Tyne and from Wearside - Sunderland Tackle Dealer, Andy Rutherford. Top North East charter boat Skipper Alan Skinner, will be doing live reports now and then.
For the Game Angler Don Coe and David Carrick will be reporting and for the Coarse Angler, David Hall and also Anne Adlington of Angel Lakes will be reporting.
Anyone on Teesside who is interested in being part of the show, please contact me on 0191-5184561. You don't have to have a "BBC voice" by the way and the positions are purely voluntary, with no payment, as it is a Community Radio Station.
Open Competition, Club Competitions and Club events and news will all be mentioned - as long as we are told about them.
As I have already mentioned, this is a live show, so there might be the odd 'hiccup' for the first couple of weeks.
Presenters will take turns at broadcasting and will not necessarily be the same presenters each week.
When you go onto the CVFM Website you can also read how you can hear the show on your mobile phones and tablets etc.
I hope we have your support lads.
    Many thanks
    Sam

Will look forward to it. We need all the good publicity we can get. Is it just me or is there a substantial gap between Les up in Amble and the Lynemouth report, and the lads south of the Tyne?

          New angling radio show

Les will be covering the area from the north of Amble to just to the south of it. Peter will be covering from where Les leaves off down to Cambois. As far as Blyth to Tyne is concerned I am still looking for somebody who is able to do this. Also from the Wear south I did say - and gave my telephone number - that anyone on Teesside or Cleveland who is willing to take part in the programme for sea angling and for coarse to please get in touch with me on 0191-5184561.
It hasn't been easy finding people willing to come "on air" as a lot of people, for some reason, are frightened of it. The only two of the team so far who are experienced and colleagues of mine from BBC's Radio show "Howes Fishing" are Don Coe and David Hall. All the rest of the team are more or less new to broadcasting.
Not everyone of the team will be on air every week as some will be taking alternate Saturdays - otherwise with the amount of presenters, they would only get a few minutes each. We will try to cover every discipline of angling every week if possible.
Again ... if anyone is interested in covering the north of the Tyne or the Teesside area, I would love to hear from you ... and as I said you don't have to have a BBC Voice - just be able to talk about fishing with some knowledge of it.

Good luck fellas. Once the virgin voices get a couple talks under their belt you won't be able to shut them up. Good on youse for giving it a go.
A bad days fishing is better than a good day at work.

I herd top match man joe Gibson was going to be putting in a guest appearance.
Just a rumor as he's a very busy angler.

Just a little note to everyone. Unfortunately just as I was about to go on air and whilst peter Thain was on air Sams Skype froze and kicked him out of the system. After being off air for 15 seconds the show is taken over by music and unfortunately Sam is unable to override that which resulted in the show stopping for this week. Sam said he is hoping this can all be sorted by next week but if anyone on here listened to the show, as I did and it is really good, and would like to post any comments they would be much appreciated. Cheers. Darren
