Because i thought it was a friendly forum about sharing info, catch reports etc. Not for slagging each other off and giving shops bad names.
I would say your a normal regular customer.

At what point does a person become a regular or a klingon??

I have a bit of craic with the owner and the other lads in the shop and they too with me but we are by no means drinking buddies...

I use my preferred shop maybe once a week during the winter/summer but sometimes this will slip to maybe once a fortnight/three weeks during the leaner spells...but will these lapses mean I lose my status as a regular? (if indeed I was ever perceived thus?)

...and does monetary input into said shop equate to "regularity"? I will spend what I need on bait and buy odds and sods that take my eye and maybe once every two years upgrade a boat rod or have a re-build so by all accounts I'm not a big spender

...or does all of the above just make me a "normal" customer?
my interpretation of a cling on is some one who hangs round a shop buys nowtknows nowt does nowtbut thinks he/she does and then tries to force a worthless load of crap info down the neck of some poor blighter thats gone into the shop

Dont know why you guess your barred, youve slagged me off, called the shop, said you would not use it, i cant call you by your first name as it seems i'm not your friend.

Not a single reason among that lot that would make me want to barr someone from using my shop.

I think you made your own mind up the minute you posted on this thread, you barred yourself.

Wallsendo, you do make me smile with some of your posts and before somebody says it, not many things make me smile lol!

On a more serious note, you ask about what makes a regular, this is difficult to put into words but here goes.

As far as i am concerned it has nothing to do with the amount of money a person spends in my shop.

Forget about how much someone spends as some have more money than others, i think it boils down to loyalty, every customer who walks through the door has the potential to become a regular.

If a person goes fishing frequently and he/she uses a particular shop for the majority of his tackle then i would say that person is a regular as would a person who only fishes now and again but each time he/she went fishing they used the same shop.

This may sound a bit stupid but i value a customer who spends a small amount of money each week more than say someone who comes in once in a while to spend a larger amount, the point i am trying to make is its not about how much you spend its how much you use a shop that makes you a regular.

The above looks a bit jibberish but i know what i mean and hope it makes sense to others.

                              Terry
