  • Canny shop

I was passing Rutherfords today so called in to get some gemini splashdown leads as his shop's the only one I know in the area who always has them and he's the cheapest allbeit by a few pence. Anyway when I was in I just asked if he had any F1 black 18lb in (not expecting a positive reply) as I've tried loads of shops in the area and they aint got it. Here you go mate he said. Also in the past when I've been ringing around for crab, a few times he's been the only one with any. It's like an alladins cave in there I think.

Probably explains why his shop is still trading, because he knows what anglers around here want.

Slightly contrary view, agree good shop for kit etc but bait prices are extortionate, up to 25% more than other local shops

I must have hit lucky as there were no clingons on the starboard bow when I went in the other day. I don't suppose the place is really big enough for a proper clingon congregation, just a sub meeting maybe.

                    More like the tardis!

Its looks more like the opposite of docter who's tardis. Looks big outside, and is tiny inside.

A good shop non the less, but I rarely need to go there...

I had to wait while he finished talking to the 'clingons' before he served me. The only time I've been in and the last.

Thats what u call business mate. If your gonna make it in this world today u have to stand out. You've got to remember though that it aint a massive shop and the way VAT is going thesedays its the only way to make the dosh.

This goes for many tackle shops, but al stick by me guns and say your paying for the quality and supporting your local dealer

Anyone tried Fishing Republic in Hendon? The gear looks a bit iffy what about the bait?
