'Camels Island is the island that gets cut off on high tides so take waders or leave before cut off time unless you want to fish over high water until the tide drops again. Face the sea on Marsden beach and look left, Camels Island is the bit of land that has the 'hump' on top (covered in grass) as far as the cove goes. Access is best by walking from the ice cream kiosk (Minchellas) at the bottom of Redwell Bank North along the cliff tops for about 400yrds to a small path which leads down to the base of the island. When you get there if it is low water you can still see the old Roman rock harbour/jetty on the right hand side which is a reasonable fishing platform amongst the rocks.A bad days fishing is better than a good day at work.
