  • Advice for a session on Tues 12th

Alright lad, going to head out Tuesday afternoon/ evening. High tide is at 16:47 so majority of session will be fishing it down. Anyone got any ideas of a venue for fishing the water down. I live in Blyth so was thinking Seaton Sluice rocks maybe or somewhere around there however anyone with any better suggestions please share!
    Many thanks Carl

You could try the sumps at the bottom of sluice or collywell bay both spots have been throwing up fish lately

I went to early mate, I planned to fish an hour before high water then back down and it was far too rough. I was casting out beyond the breaking waves but my braid was getting trashed on the rocks and made bite detection impossible. So I decided to drop some baits in the gullies until the tide turned and started to pull out loads of small coalies (6-7 inches) which kept me occupied until I could push further forward on the rock edges. When I gave it another go it was still quite rough so packed in about 7 ish. To be honest it was dying off a bit and getting dark so I packed in at the wrong time but I was thinking about my dinner by then! Two lads turned up as I was leaving who Im sure had more luck than me I was hoping one of them might of stuck a report up this morning.

Yeah I left a bit frustrated but try to look at it as a learning curve. Still good to be out with a line in the water though. I have fished that mark from high to low on a nice calm night and had a couple of Codling so I know they are there. I work in Arbroath Monday to Friday so need to get myself on them rock marks. Might just hit the Tyne on Thurs or try Sluice again from Low to High if its calmer
