  • The Great North Sea Storm- Feb 2011

There's an amateur weather forecaster who has been predicting this since late December. He got a lot of stick for it. However............Some of the long range forecasts are picking up on a low developing which IF (a big if) ends up in the right place could make his prediction come true. (pehaps a couple of days later than he predicted)
We've all been waiting for a stir up. If this comes off we might be in for a bit more!

Got bait in the fridge; my headlamp's charged; traces made up; that's me all ready; because this has got to bring the fish back in.
Or maybe we'll be able to just pick them up off the beaches, if the sea's that rough.

Well good news for the photographers amongst us. Should get some good "armageddon" shots if that forecast is right. Best watch out for flying cod though !!!

so far you are on course to be right. Just been down to Tynemouth beach and the sea is flatter than my pond.
Was going out tonight to beach but will wait until after this storm.

will get some great shot as the waves roll over the top of you and pulverise my puny body into the ground, and that will be in the back garden a mile from the sea.

been doing some googling on this guy...

early in october he drew charts for the end of november, predicting a very slow moving low pressure system fed by artic winds dumping huge amounts of snow, followed by a weak high, again fed from the artic producing fine conditions but very low temperatures

sound familiar? that was a month in advance

just been looking at the pressure charts on various sites for the end of next week and its gonna get breezy, at the minute the are west/NW forecast, wouldn't take much for them to shift a bit further north
