  • Jackie's Beach, Whitburn

Im thinking about giving Jackies beach a go on Sat morning, never fished here before.

Would be there probably 2 hours either side of low tide. Anybody who knows this mark would you say thats a reasonable time to fish there? and if so any spot in particular to cast out that might see a few fish?..

I'd love a Codling, if not though a Whiting may be nice other than that any fish would do!

Also what is the ground like out from here too, much chance of losing tackle?..

very tackle hungry ground, last time i fished it it was a huge tide on got right out on the south end of the beach, wreck point end. The tide flew out with it being a big one and dont think it fished well because of this, may have been better on a small tide. Next time i fish here it will be over high water with a good sea running.
If you go into the search section at the top of the main page and put in "jackies beach" it will bring up past threads, go down 4 or 5 threads and you will see a one by myself, go into it and theres a couple of pics taken at low water that might help you pick a spot

Been in touch with a mate who lives in whitburn, he said you can fish on right side skeer, casting north eastly into boiler hole.
But best on a big running sea

Cheers fellas im going to give it a go next weekend over high water now. I fished Roker pier yesterday and only 1 undersized Whiting saved me from a blank.. Dont think anyone was catching much though, unbelievable really when i think at one point there must have been about 50 lines in the water, there were loads of people out.
