Hey up there Bigman, congrats again on your fine catch at Beadnell and Arbroath. I,ve been fishing at Smith\'s most sundays now, i usually fish near to the concrete raised block roughly in the middle, it has a metal boat tie up on it. I,ve had my most productive sessions fishing the block tides, baiting with frozen crab and black lug. I\'ve also found the further you cast the more you get, casting into the set. I use a clipped down rig and six ounce grip to try and hold in the tide. On the bigger spring tides it seems to be feast or famine, the fishing usually picks up about 1/2 hours either side of high or low water. Although when the rip starts i tend not to cast as far out as tackle losses can be big. If you fish at Smith\'s you should get a weigh in of codling/whiting.
Although i,ve heard from reliable sources that hebburn and Jarrow marina are fishing well for big bags of whiting and flounder two hook pats with rag/lug, mackeral seem to be doing the business. Hope this helps Bigman and good luck although of late you shouldn\'t need that.

      Cheers JAW.
