iv never used braided line before, can you fill a multiplier up with it for distance casting or is only good for lure fishing?

I was told recently that its no good for repeated casting on multipliers.

I have used it on fix spool spinning reels for about 10 years and find it great stuff but would not like surf fishing or distance casting with a stiff rod using it.

Fantastic on fixed spool reels & great on boat multipiers.
The big problem with multiplier casting with braid is getting flare ups. Would work out very expensive.
I will only be out for a couple of hours pet.

because of how thin it is, when you retieve with any amount of wieght on, it digs into itself on a multliplier. Its ok for fixed spools as alot of tension if took off by the bail arm when retieving. But i only use it for spinning, lure fishing and float work, and its a treat.

Could try using the braid as thick as 15lb mono, but i dont fancy slicing fingers trying to pull out 80lb braid from snags

been using the stuff for years on a multi, no problems, does not dig in, does not cause flaring, if it does your snatching your cast, used it for beach casting no problems, the only issue is because of the lack of stretch big waves pull the weight out

                  totaly agree here!

av used it on fixed spools for yrs weather it be bait fishing or with the lures but a bout a year and a half ago a put some on my abu 6500 and absolutely love it and havent had any probs

just dont use it for rough ground as its not very abrasion resistant

Theres nothing wrong with using braid on heavy ground. As long as the diameter of the braid isn't ultra thin.

It's just like mono...u wouldn't use low diameter15lb line on the rocks therefore u wouldnt use 40lb braid.

                      braid

you can use the heaviest braid you can findit still does not have the abrasion resistance of mono

I know lads who use it on the rock edges without any problems.

U ever tried cutting braid? Try and bite through .4 diameter braid and .4 mono. I know which one your teeth will cut straight through!
