We have decided that the Easington Colliery 16th Annual Open Comp that was held on the 27th December is sadly the last one. It's been agreed that all proceeds left in the account will be given to the RNLI which totals £1447.26.
Many thanks to everyone who has fished over the last 16 years, in the end you've all helped to donate to a charity which benefits us all as anglers.
Also thanks to Rutherford's Angling and North East Tackle for prize donations and support.

    Chris..( Secretary )

Its been bad for everyone lately, we normally have 180 to 210 anglers fish but this year was 99 . I think lack of fish, finances and this flu bug going round has added to a lack of interest. The RNLI are angels on our shoulders, we pray we dont need them, but know they're there when we do...

sad to see another major event hitting the dust, but what a fabulous gesture giving proceeds of the sixteen years it has been held to the RNLI
