  • Had a chuck at Whitby

    The wife and bern wanted to go to whitby so i took the oppertunity to get some nice frozen blacks out and me rod and reel got there about 10.30am only one other guy on the peir at that time said he had a few rockling and thats about it ! so tackeled up and give it a lobb nothing another lobb nothing the other guy had already caught a rockling and a small coalie next lobb get in a rockling whole 6inches of it over the moon haden't blanked stayed untill 1pm 3 other lads turned up as i left nothing else caught whilst i was there! went round town for a few hours and on the way back to the car bumped into the first lad coming of the peir he had another 2 rockling over high water !!

    Well done on not blanking. Nice photo. Do you have to pay to fish Whitby pier?

      No mate it's free had to climb (walk) over the gate for the first time ever dead easy thou!

          Only asked because my dad took me and wor kid there in the seventies and he had to pay threepence (old money) for each of us to get on and fish it. We were only about ten but still no concession. Now I know it's for free I'll go back!

              It wasn't to bad a bit of a swell about 6ft lot of surfers out there not to much seaweed !!
