  • Wr 300 - ttr - ss

    Ah reet lads and lasses,

I am thinking of buying a century kompressor SS, I have already got the WR300 and the TTR but the better half has said that i have to make funds for this purchase buy selling the other 2

anyway, just wondering if any has tried out the new SS and what they think of them compared to the TTR and the WR300

    cheers in advance

my mate has the ss an he hated it for the first 20 casts but once the rod starts to bed in then he loved it but saying that he went and bought a m427 and now the ss has been demoted to the dusty cupboard he says he will never buy a century after using a zippy
    Cod machine

have to say the same as king cod deano i got the m427 and its a beast sold my ss and ttr now have a few zippys and a eliminator, the ss is a lovely rod but id rather keep the ttr and wr300 than sell them to buy it, if u sell them get a m427 or m427su if u want a stiffer 1 lol. the butt on my m427 is solid no bend in it proper rough ground rod and the su version is even stiffer still id say the ttr is better for rough ground

Getting rid of 2 top of the range rods just to get 1 which is probably not rated any better seams a bit drastic to me unless you're experiencing problems while fishing with them. If so I reckon you'd have to try before you buy or you might find yourself in the same boat minus 1 rod!

I'm just wondering why you want another rod that does exactly the same job as the two you already have? Especially when most people only fish with one rod off the rocks / into rough ground anyway.

I've got a few rods but they all do different jobs. The ZZiplex Pendleteque Pro - Am Match is for light beach work, the TTLD is my general rod for 90% of my fishing, the TT Sport Mk1 is paired with the TTLD for most winter beach work if using two rods or used on its own off the piers then there is the WR300 for the rough stuff.

Your TTR and WR300 are both heavy duty rough ground rods that do their job very well. Why get another rod that does the same thing (and maybe not quite as well?)

                  wr300

had the 300 12 months now and its a fantastic rod but felt its a bit too short at just over 13ft wanted a new rod as similar as possible to the wr300 but longer and not as stiff as eliminator. The ss fits the bill and its been sent to santa already for xmas

I agree with the lads on here why do you need one more
                    heavy ground rod?

I have had all the heavy ground rods now as most on here
will tell you and i have gone back to a Conoflex Anubis
Plus 7oz and this is a rod that will pull the plug out the sea

As others say get rid of your rods and get one that dose
the job well and just get a Ron Thompson Axellarator
                    13'6 4 - 8oz as a back up rod.

                    Ron Thompson
                    Conoflex Anubis and Anubis Plus
