I had the same problem mate after 6 months of having a shocker with it i opened it up and i never put the breaks in lol. As soon as i put the 2 red breaks in from the box in a little packet the reel never nested again i now own 2 of them great all round reel.

Had bother yesterday with Abu reel which is normally great for casting,long story short,my pal had a look inside and the brake block had actually came apart and was just lying there in the aperture
Fitted new block and job sorted
Was going to blame the problem on brand new Red Mist line at first coz its a bit stiff,but after the minor surgery it was fine and quite like the line now,700 odd yards for a tenner
