hi all was planning fishing 1st gate 6pm to 6am tonight but with the weather and using public transport dont want to get there and find its unfishable
dont mind the cold there will be 3 of us fishing what would yous recomend
cheers russ
The first gate is pretty much a safe mark in even the worst of seas. As of how its fishing well i would say it will throw out a couple of fish, my opinion only but i think it fishes well when theres a good sea on. I prefer the "hole in the wall" just 50yards further back down the pier towards the brigade hut for no other reasons than i have caught fish there and theres less sea spray when theres a sea running in on the seaward side of the pier. I hope you have a good night despite the really bad weather!
agree with last post always chance of fish if theres any swell running down inside of pier, chance of a good one aswell. dont need a big cast either!! personally never seen sea so big so it would be dangerous at first gates but never say never.good luck.
im hoping to get down 2mora and get some snaps, dropped the daughter off in town 2nite and the roads were a bit fun then but i will try, just so you other land lubbers have an idea what its like on the coast
thanks for replys decided to stay local and fished behind gateshead stadium
