I was just wondering if it was worth giving spinning a try whilst out in Alcudia as my hotel is right next to the beach and it's alive with loads of activity. I've seen a few shoals of bigger fish chasing after the small silver fish, any idea what they could be? And would it be worth spinning for a few?

Not sure about spinning but spent hours in mallorca after the mullet on family holidays. Size 12 hook with bread flake and you're sorted. If you want rag ask for 'gusanos' at scuba diving/marine style shops. However, bread flake should catch you plenty of mullet and bream -
I had several Mullet last year. Is this a member of the Mullet family or?

You might ready know but I found that the big mullet used to come in at night. My parents used to go to a bar on the sea front and the fish used to come pretty close once it got dark. Telescopic spinning rod and a baguette nicked from the hotel buffet - great times
