Can anyone recommend a good fixed spool reel. I am currently using a Penn Captiva 3000 reel. Good little reel, but after a few years of use it is now showing some signs of wear. The cheap gold chrome finish is flaking off in parts, but more worrying is the line is getting trapped between the roller on the bale arm, and the bale arm itself on occasions. I have tried tightening the roller to reduce any gap, but I am unable to do so.
I have a budget of £70, and would like a reliable reel of this size (3000) with a design where this problem is unlikely to happen.. I am sure some members will have their own thoughts on this type of reel, but any views or recommendations would be very much appreciated.
