  • DAIWA TNXS 142M/ZZIPLEX SST 14FT ??

Anybody used these rods? If so what are they like for casting and bite detection? Has anybody heard any reports of them snapping?

hi chukka, using a 14ft sst myself bite detection no problem i also have a 13ft sst but think the tip is slightly stiffer ,got the 14ftsst off martin /w . my friend barney has a 14ft diawa tnxs rod says it is very powerful not sure what he thinks of bite detection but i think he might be selling it not sure though rod breakages years of fishing never seen a zziplex break yet only rods i have broke are the greys jupiter and a conoflex rekata regards john

Agree with you Blastman never snapped a ZZiplex but bust most others especially centurys and jupiters but touch wood my Apollo has lasted well and taken a good hammering !! Ps do you know anywhere that can get hold of SST blanks in a reasonable time?

hi sless, 190yds is still a good cast to me sometimes distance does help but i find you have to keep practising to keep on top of it ,if you are practising casting are you missing out on fishing???????? brilliant area for fishing where you are ,might be the best area in north east regards john

I had a cast with a daiwa tnxs 14ft2 at the weekend

wow what a rod, good responsive tip and plenty of power from mid section to a stiff butt!!!!

First cast and i won my comp with it LOL on a hard day for casting.

14ft + of rod is a lot of rod to move around and you will need to be powerful to get the tip speed for casting, saying that the blank is quite light.

I have a friend who is a very good match angler that uses one and cant praise it enough.

Heard a few reports of a some snapping though

But saying that im getting a secondhand hand one soon, it felt great for casting

                    cheers,
                    Terry
