TO MANY QUOTES! Me heads spinning

Al let off the magnetex 30, its a bigger reel, but a stand me ground where the magnets are concernd. Plus, wat puts me off them is the difference in size. A duno if uv seen this to mate, but luk at the size of the 20! Its about 3x smaller, holds boot 180yds 18lb line. Shud be called the magnetix 10!

Al still say there dirt cheap too...

1)yes, im the guy wanting the mag2's ane now got them (well the 515 for now at least)!

      2) I didnt get a mag30 cos okuma isnt know for reel quality, except for boat reels. I have used a mag30 though, sounds like a washing machine when casting

dont understand any of the advice you have been given on here.
a penn 525 holds more than enough 30 pound line for rock fishing, and I for one don't know many rock marks where you need a 100 plus yard cast. the penn 525 holds 150 yards of 30 pound mono. most marks/beaches on our coast require 30-70 yards. a 525 full of ultima f1 with/without leader will suit you easily.

                I wouldn't use 30lb on a 525. I don't know anyone who would.

....firstly there isn't enough line on it.

....secondly when u come to reel in and theres no line on your spool how u going to pump a fish in quickly?!

If you're going to fish heavy ground u need a powerful reel (slosh30's or 535)and strong line to straighten hooks and pull off rotten bottems. Theres no point in fishing 20lb line in kelp cos all u'll do is be tying shockleader all day long.

some fair points, but 60 to 70 yard chucks still leave you with half a spool of line easy and plenty people do fish the majority of marks (rivers, beaches and rocks) with these all round reels. given the high retrieve of the reel this offsets the low line capacity for sure.

Ultima F1 is a low diameter line. Fishing the rock ends that is not the priority.

....30lb F1 is like using 20lb sensor in diameter stakes.

...and as u said why cast long on the rocks?! So why the need for low diameter line?

i have a couple of 535's and i think theyre great, still cheap and very tough. only let me down once and i think that was my fault.( serviced it and had bits left over) next time i had a fish on it locked up solid. jam its a hand line you need for what you catch
If they aint there you cant catch em

after miss placing my sl30sh (slosh 30) ive used an old 525mag with 35lb line all the way through, not much problems, yes i can cast the whole spool, but dont need to. Never had an issue retieving as there is less pressure on the spool, so easier to crank faster. The 35lb line is very fine for the breaking strain, its the ultima rough diamond they used to make, but stopped, think its simillar or thinner than F1 and more abraisive resistant.

                                BUT!

get a slosh 30 mate, fine for casting, loads of line, simple to service, made of graphite, so wont corrode, will last for ever and little maintanence and will pull the plug out the ocean if it needed.
