Errrmm, sorry lads - \"catch\" report is a bit misleading !
Took a half day off work thisafternoon to do a bit of fishing during daylight (unusual experience - usually when I\'m out fishing and my watch says 2:00 it\'s pitch dark)
Had a couple of hours on the rocks under the cannon at Trow Rocks (some of those waves coming in were bloody enormous
).
Didn\'t get anything there (apart from a canny soaking on a couple of occassions :P ) gave up the wave dodging at 2:30 and went for a few hours of more sedate fishing from the Pier. Felt a bit over-dressed with me chesties on on the pier, like.
Spoke to a couple of blokes who were just leaving as I was ariving; \"Aything happening off the pier, then?\" I asked. The reply of \"Absolutely s**te, mate!\" wasn\'t the response I was hoping for.
Oh well, I thought - I\'m here now and got plenty of bait with me (including some of the magic pigs liver) - I\'ll give it a go.
After 3 hours of nothing, I started to feed the ever hungry birds with bits of bait. They were the only things DID want to take it.
Redshanks and Turnstones liked the ragworm and the gulls....well they liked everything.
Met 2 lads ariving on the pier as I was leaving; \"Owt happening, mate?\", they asked - \"Absolute s**te\" was the reply.
Still - beats being at work
