  • Black Path

Thinking about fishing the black path over high water. It's years since I fished there, am I likely to lose gear every cast? Is it better to fish to the left or right of the path?

Take a wheelbarrow full of weights as you will need them.

It's just north of Marsden Bay/Camels Island, you get to it by walking along the clifftops and the black path heads out into the sea. Looks a perfect spot but based on what Wavy Davy says, I think I'll give it a miss!

most of the marks along there will eat leads for fun but most can chuck out some cracking fish with doubles very likely, and in my opinion i would loose a barra full of lead if i knew i had the chance of a double. Word of warning though, its very slippy and be very wary with any sort of sea running.

As Jamie said, its a noted big fish venue that loves taking your leads but very worth it.
