i am having trouble getting a good grip with my thumb on the spool of my multiplier as my finger keeps slipping off, has anyone got any advice on how to get a better grip.

There's two ways you can do it mate...
First you can cut the thumb off an old rubber glove and wear that when your casting...or...
Tape a strip of old inertube at the back of your reel on the rod and then flap it over to grip your line ( you can also attach it by pushing it under your reel seat.

Ps,,, you can also wrap elastic bands around your thumb,,,, and take 'em off after casting..

there is a third way...
try using the multiplier down the butt...I had the same problem and this solved it for meOoh a new vid!

What rod are you using and also what reel seat?
Reason I ask is I've got a WR300 and an Abu Grip-Lok and that is a PITA to grip the spool because it is so bulky. OK for fishing when I don't need to cast but on the field I take the Grip-Lok off and use coasters. Putting those together with a big reel like a SLOSH would make casting impossible for someone like me with quite small hands.CLIP IT AND WHACK IT
