Oh yes......and getting older by the day.

The old man used to send me to the machine when we were short of bait (or BOTAC had a mid week comp and we couldn't get any fresh bait). The lug were like twiglets. Sometimes I'd walk from Cullercoats only to find the machine was empty. Then it was mussel or mussel.

                I remember it well

Re Temples, think there was a fag machine aswell, I dont know how well it would work, first thing that comes to mind is vandalism, if thers money in it , then again thers a vending machine on Whitley Bay metro station & a few others that seem to survive ok.were would you put them? I suppose the best plaice (soz) would be close to 3 or4 hot spots eg Blyth beach/W Bay S,S Pier I guess if it was stocked with only frozen bait it would be more viable, you could leave the bait in there for weeks rather than fresh were you would have to check it every few days.. if it was fresh, again would we use them? I know my self when I/we go out for a session Its usually determined by the tide 3hours up 2 hours down. or what ever and take the appropriate amount of bait most times we end up chucking or giving the fresh stuff away at the end of the session `cos we always overestimate.I cant remember ever running out of bait, (tabs a few times ) again why stop at bait ?? Im sure if they also sold lead weights, or hooks, spare line someone would buy them, if the machine was secure enough why not reels & things like that ,. hot coffee? tea? as a sideline,go mad & have a delivery service some spotty kid on a moped with a load of bait ect on him But my self I dont think it would work, most of us are organised enough to take enough gear with us for a day/nights fishing,, A nice thought though.
