Sam asked me to put this up
This Sunday, 16th, as part of National Fishing Month, a Children's "Crab Catching" Competition is being held on the River Tyne next to the Copthorne Hotel, Newcastle. Entry is free and there are two categories - up to 12 years and 12 years to 17 years. Fishing is 2 pm to 4 pm with registration from 1 pm. No rods, reels or hooks to be used - hand lines and baits will be supplied. Competitors are asked to bring a bucket or similar to keep the crabs alive in, so that they can be returned to the water after the competition. The competition is open to all youngsters up to 17 years of age. There are plenty of good prizes to be won. The Organisers wish to thank Bait Box for the baits, Thorntons for the chocolates and Walkers for the crisps. For further details, contact Sam on 0191-5184561
