  • South Shields pier

    What's the bottom like near, and at the end. Is it snaggy or clean? Might give it a go, just wanna know what sort of end tackle to make up

    can be snaggy at times i would say a 60 yard chuck will keep u out the rocks, just been down tonight and lost nowt but saying that next time im down il probly lose every set up lol, plenty of whities on the pier had 4 or 5 whites 2 dab and 2 size codling didnt see many fish caught really was expecting more the last few times iv been but its worth a shot

      fishing shileds pier you will aways lose a lead or 2 even the very experienced anglers lose leads but as gary said 60 yds should put you clear of the very snaggy parts of pier, further out not so snaggy and not lose as much , take last week for example i fished end of pier on sat 7 hours with 2 rods only lost 1 rig, fished on sun 5 hours with 1 rod and lost 4 rigs thats fishing for you, it also depends on wind and tide conditions,

        So if I give it a decent chuck, tide going out, and get the lead up quick on retrieve should be ok...ish.
