got aload of a bloke last night he said he used them the other night caught fish every cast havent tryed them mesel yet has anyone on here ever used them. they bludy reek lol .he said if i ever fish a comp dont use them as there bared is he pulling me leg or wat cheers lads

Don't see why they would not catch fish! probably a bit like mussel,as for bieng barred from comps....think thats a load of scallops!

A bloke gave me some at Port st Mary on the Isle of Man and i caught loads of big coalies on them. whipped on with elastic thread.

yeah i've heard them used on the boats but not on the shore and they do stink ... if ya gonna use them get fresh ones !!!!!!

Similar type of experience to Topfly.
I've used them years ago on fishing trips to the Isle of Man. There used to be a scallop processing plant in Douglas Harbour and the unwanted shells and skirts were dumped in a skip inside the factory unit. You just had to go in and ask nicely and they let you take as many as you wanted.
They were a fantastic bait when used locally. A mate of mine took a seven and a half pound coalfish on freelined queeny skirt, what a fight he had lucky sod.
Yes they do stink and yes you would use them as you would mussel. I think they would make a cracking cocktail bait and if you've got a ready supply then definitely give them a go.
