  • B*st*rd Dog Walkers!!!!!

    I a word Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh!!

I was fishing Cambois today and what a disaster.
    1st cast I had a snap off.
2nd cast I got snagged of the biggest lump of seaweed I have ever seen. Im quite impressed with my knots as I somehow managed to get it back in but as a result my reel bust so I was down to 1 rod.
Then when I thought things couldnt get worse someones dog comes charging towards me from nowhere, grabs my bag of Bluey shakes it around. Shallows one whole, then another The dogs owner casually said "oh sorry about that but hes only young" She must have been expecting me to smile and say "Oh bless" or something but really I just wanted to kick its teeth in (and im refering to the owner)

In the end I caught a crab, small coalie and had a really good bite but didnt lands so overall a terrible session but I have no idea why but no doubt in a couple of days I will have the urge to go fishing again. Strange

A couple of bits of advice mate.

Always take a bait bucket, dogs cant get in them.

Dont fish Cambois beach in Daylight or on a big tide. It fishes so much better during darkness and on smaller tides.

Other than that your thread made me laugh, dogs aint the problem as you say its the owners

I doubt they would have been so casual about it if you'd had a big bluey bait on a 4/0 pennel hanging off your tripod and the mutt had ran over and grabbed that. Thing is it's not the dogs fault but the lazy owner who can't be arsed to train it / keep it under control.

As for the rest of the session we all have days like it, it will all be forgotten about next time you are out and you get into some fish

Lol, i have a dog and she runs when ever i show her a fish, put a king rag on the floor and she sniffed it and took off
Give her cod in batter and she's a different animal "woofs" it down (see what i did there !)
She loves the sea and swims in it all the time but anything raw from it and she's off
I always keep her on a lead (the dog) when i walk her as she bites other dogs, cats and the occasional person so i never have the bait snatching problem

Oh and well done on the coalie

I seem to remember some laws concerning dogs and land stating - All dogs must kept under control and must be kept on a leash - especially if there are bloody great signs up every where stating that.

Of course it would be different if the dog had bitten you, or another member of the public. Then the owner would be in deep sh*t and the dog would probably off to the big kennel in the sky!

Like people keep saying it's not the animal that's stupid it's the owner.
              Here fishy, fishy!

sorry Mick but I had run out of bait and sent the dog to get some, thought he would of popped to Billy's, wondered why he wasn't long.

And why are all dog walkers labelled by the actions of one, you don't like it when anglers are all accused of leaving mess and killing undersized fish by the actions of one, so please use the singular next time or I may take offence at being called a B*st*rd and set the dog on you, and then you may not be able to sit on your box for a while as he will bite your axxe.

i have a american bulldog and he's always on the lead as he's a big lad (8 stone) and i paid a fortune for him so i dont risk him getting a hook in him. anyone that doesn't keep control of their dog doesn't deserve to have one.

2 old codgers down the beach today, got out the car put the lead on the dog, it never even got to the beach and it sh1t all over the pathway which was covered in sand, old fella just kicked the sand over the sh1t and stamped it down a bit, think older folk would have more sense. Worst part of it was the dogs sh1t was dihorea Yuk.
