    what is the main difference between the platinum gsi and the xs.

    i bought a xs for a bargain price of 70 quid is a bit knocked about but its at the rod builders having a full rebuild.

    whats the casting action compared to the gsi some info would come in handy as to what the rods like.

    and yes for 70 quid i snapped it up.

    just googled it mate and it looks to me thier the same rod

      hmmm i googled it and the gsi is a different rod i think carnt find much info why im asking.

        I think the Gsi is a stiffer rod.

          Yep, GSI is stiffer in the butt, slightly tippier as well. XS is a more through actioned rod, also a bit heavier according to Greys website - more info there:

          Had a pair for a few years (just sold one recently) - one of my favourite rods as it's a very good allrounder.

            As Gary say's, it's a more through actioned rod, iv'e had one for a couple of years, but only used it a dozen times. a nice rod so you did well for that price.
