Haway then, what's the crack with pyramid leads then?

Seems to be a rush on them at the minute - so what do they get used for IE which circumstances etc??

    Ooh a new vid!

Yeah cheers mate that's what I was thinking...bit more grippy than a plain bomb but not a full on grip lead

Seem to be the rage at the minute

They work best in soft mud and sand.
And just like any grip lead, they work better with a long tail wire.

I used them over in Australia when I went over to visit my daughter, I've got a beachcaster over there so I just take over a couple of reels & rigs, etc and buy my weights there. I could not find any grip leads so had to make do with the pyramids they worked a treat when fishing surf beaches so brough a few 2 & 5 onz ones back.
They hold bottom ok in the main channel when fishing the tyne, however when fishing the beach and using braid they bounce along the bottom when retrieving and this has resulted in a few lost fish.

The problem I could see with the flat ended pyramids is the flat surface digging in on the retrieve

Cheers for comments...could only find Oz and USA discussion topics after a brief Google search on the subject
