i had a go with royal mail but they would,nt touch it because it was to big.
It has to be a delivery firm.

parcel force keeps getting mentioned on thread like this, i keep enquiring but they keep saying fishing rod too long they wont do.

i actualy got a rod sent to my address with parcel force delivery man was,nt too happy i just said to him i did,nt ask sellar to send to me using parcel force.

maybe it might depend were you live if parcel force will do.

i sent a full exhaust for a car up to the highlands a few weeks ago and it only cost me 14quid, next day delivery and that was with extra insurance, im sure it was myparcel.co.uk , they asked when it needed to be picked up, i gave them an hr window and they were bang on time. citylink were the courier for them.

if not, type in cheap uk couriers into google, i have used a few for big bulky items and they have been spot on, i think interparcel was another one?

They run together with a big Logistics co-ordinator so they may be taking it there but will have other stuff as well and then they have stuff to take back

                          they are just very organised

It is a pit our post office has gone the way it is as its had millions thrown at it in the last ten years and look at how it performs

I have sent a couple rods using interparcel for around £8 which is well cheap but will probably be more to ireland, i put them in carpet cardboard roll which you can pickup at any carpet shop for nowt n just use scrumpled newspaper or carrier bags as packing for the inside.

I have used interparcel to send lots of stuff & had no problems at all.
