i wish organizers of these big fishing comps could get together and sort out the comps so there is no clash of big ones ,as all involved would gain if they didnt clash, as it is lads from northumberland will fish 1 comp and the lads from seaham and surrounding areas will prob fish the seaham open . i know it is hard and things like cancelled comps will put a spanner in the works of a lot of comps. i hope organisers can get there heads together to try and prevent this from happening in the future, good luck with your comp i hope it works well for you .

Less than a handful of suitable tides (sept & oct) before the clocks go back then the low tide is well early - and lots of clubs trying to put on matches. It's going to get worse the next few years as well as the tides keep getting earlier - might end up with a few being fished late afternoon / evening.

If it's a high tide venue (ie South Shields open) then should fit in nicely between the fortnightly lows.

That's the Town Council match Tony, would have been this weekend but now moved to November 21st.

AFAIK the Seaham Open is on October 24th this year and always has been.

Historically the Seaham Open was always held in October. I should know, I used to be on the committee. May have changed to November in the last few years but going back a bit longer that's when it was.

Last year it was in December because the November date was unfishable so called off. I'd guess that is why they have gone back to an October date as there is less chance of really bad weather then
