best low di main line to put on 525 mag.in 20 or 25lb test.would i get much 30lb line on a 525.whats everyone use to attach shocker to main line thats easy to do when its cold and wet and dark--lol

Many good lines, probs best to tell you what to avoid - Red Ice/Ultima vector.

OK lines at a good price are e.g. Daiwa Sensa, Blood red stren and one of my favourite cheaper lines - Ultima Distance/Rough diamond (same line)

There are better lines e.g. Suffix Tritanium and Daiwa Tournament but I only buy expensive lines for the rough stuff, where it counts and I use Suffix.

imo a 525 mag can be used at short range with 30lb line and 25lb line but you may find it a little wanting if you cast 100 yards and the line is being pulled around. I use 7000 size reels - fave is SLOSH 30 and they are loaded with 30lb. My 525's optimum performance is with 20lb. Can cast a sinker alone 200 yards with that set up.

On one mixed mark I fish high water down I start with an abu mag elite/15lb to reach the holes, switch to a 525 mid-water and then to a slosh 30 at low water when you can be casting into the snags. Gives you an idea.

I use diawa sensor mate, its a bit thicker then other lines but its as tough as bulls lugs. The 15lb is .37mm 18lb .40mm 20lb .44mm and so on. Most 15lb lines are .35mm so if you put .02mm onto the diameter of other lines thats about right. This is my preferance anyway, no doubt other people will have thier favs though.

I agree with you mate, i use 30lb sensor on me slosh 30 for heavy ground and 15lb to 18lb on me 525 for mixed ground.
Leader knot wise the bimini twist is the one but it is hard to tie in the cold and wet otherwise its the overhand and uni knot one which is simple

I currently use diawa sensor 20lb with a ultima 60lb shockleader, that's on a slosh20 and have had no problems even on snaggy ground..
In a strong wind the mainline will bow whatever diameter you use so i'd rather have a little extra faith in my line than worrying about a slight bow
I always use the grinner knot for attaching mainline to shockleaders...easy to tie once mastered and as strong if not stronger than many other knots out there, never had one fail on me....yet

If your hands are cold and wet the grinner knot is almost impossible to tie, i use the albright as its a lot simpler.

yeah i use the albright shockleader knot but now im going to be using the bimini twist and a nice long shockleader, im using daiwa sensor 20lb at the min on my 525 but i found ultima distance better il be using the ultima distance next time i need new line but sensor is my second choice just abit thick for the breaking strain

i would recommend penn surf line red in colour very very good ,dont use fancy knots for attaching leader a figure of eight in leader thats all.

thats the conclusion ive came to after using many over rated lines over the years

that 20lb sensor might as well be labelled 25lb compared to other lines

Got to agree with you mate, i've used all sorts down the years and sensor is the most reliable line i've used and for the price of it you just cant go wrong. Very good value line that is as tough as you like.

Got to agree about the sensor, fantastically strong and knots great. Like the F1 as well when you need the thin diameter
