  • Penn Affinity vs Penn Spinfisher?

Looking at a biggish fixed spool & was wondering which to get between the 2 or anything similar/better for the money. Budget around the £100 mark.
Probably use it on a 13'6" Penn Surfblaster with braid.

    Ta.

Never used an affinity but wouldn't use anything other than a spin fisher now I have one.

About 200g heavier than my technium mgs, not that heavy after 3 or 4 casts, superb reel, braid spools are poor with the capacity but cast well and pull the plug out and for £140 ideal to clatter about on the rocks

Do they miraculously get lighter the more you use them like?

Yes as the more you use them the better and further your casting gets the less line left on the spool hence lighter.

And put the reel at the bottom of the rod.

I can't get my head round that. My mate has his multiplier low & does ok but he's a left hander, but I can't see me as a right hander casting with a FS set low.
Saying that if I played golf or cricket I'd hold the club/bat right handed but when i hold an ice hockey stick I'm left handed!

Guess I'd have to try it out.
