  • Disappointed, but me own fault

Saturday, thought I might fish the Whitley festival, but couldn't decide, so thought, i'll register Sunday morning rather than commit myself getting a ticket on Saturday. The wife using the car to go to the boot sale got back at ten past nine, so quickly loaded all my gear into car and went caravan park for registration. Place looked deserted, so asked some one at the door if they were doing the tickets here, (no registration signs), never seen anyone was the reply. shot off to Lewises tackle to check where reg. was, and found reg. finished at 9-15am. at the caravan park. Moral of this story, don't fanny about. got what I deserved Might just go out in the boat to chear myself up

      Mate,

Just get out and fish somewhere anyway. You don't need to be in a comp to catch fish, relax and have a slow days fishing instead. Or wait until high tide tonight and go out then.
      Here fishy, fishy!

Should have got some rope while you were at the boot sale Arthur Look at it as brownie points earned......anyway you owe your missus one since she got your boat off the beach for you a couple of months back........

Got a similar tale of woe, can't recall the year, was late 80's, fishing had been rubbish for a couple of weeks, mate and I were debating entering - would have been our first ever comp. Seeing the poor fishing continuing upto the day before we opted not to bother but just went out fishing as normal - I landed a 9 1/2lber and a couple around 3lb off Sluice beach that night! Gah! Weigh in, from what we heard was quite poor just to add insult to injury!!!!

Ahhh it wasn’t that bad for you. I thought your story was going to turn out a lot worse when you loaded the car with your gear and your wife drove off to the car boot sale....
