Tried to fish last night at local mark in Newbiggin area, too big, returned this morning to same mark still too big, so decided to try mark a little further south, massive ebb tide but still a lovely hole to fish, only casting 30yds into hole, managed 3 fish only 3 bites, all cracking bites as well, all to Crab n mussel, 3lb 9ozs, 3lb 2ozs n 1 just over a lb, returned small one, other 2 now filleted and in fridge, might try again tomorrow, sea dying all the time n wind turning southwesterly, hope it does not go too flat for the Whitley Comp on Sunday

      Rigs

Because of the very heavy ground in this area using a simple long hook trace with a 4/0 sakuma and of course rotten bottom, only lost 1 set of gear despite the heavy ground, where I was fishing there is a hole as I said which is surrounded by heavy kelp, which was very evidnet because of the huge tide
