Howdy all.I normally fish between Hendon prom & Shields pier but have decided to broaden my horizons this winter.I know its not far but I had a bit of bait left ( yorkshire puds & garden wormz,I'm sure I seen a post on here That said Yorkshire puds where good bait )so decided to go south and ended up here. ..

    Horden. (View north)

I'm gonna have a dodge down at low water to get a better view of the hunting ground. But was wondering if any you guys or gals had any suggestions about tactics? Baits, flood or ebb, wind directional etc..

    Also where to park SAFELY.
I parked here (just up the hill on the leftt )during the day but not sure about all night sessions.

    Any advice greatly appreciated..

My mate had his car broke into in that exact spot at 1 oclock in the afternoon a few months ago, we have never been back. most people park up by the houses and walk down personally I doubt i'll ever go back there again, but had a couple of good session down before this happened.

Cheers for the warning ijakk.I had my doubts about that particular place to park.I know you can get onto the beach a bit further along but don't know yet how to get there yet.

We normally park in the last street on the right before the rail line bridge. Day or night we have never had any bother. Good fishing too over high water.

no problem mate I wouldn't want anyone else getting caught out like that properly screws up your day that sort of thing, don't let that put you of though mate, we should have known better really, canny place otherwise.

Any one know if Horden fishes at low water, I'm thinking about going down on Thursday evening, according to Wind guru winds are going to drop to about 6 knots, low water at about 22: 10. I was thinking about last 2hrs down, first 2hrs up (work@ 6: 45am so cannot stay out all night). ?
