  • New Reel.

Im after a new multiplier but im undecided what to get.I currently use a slosh 30 as rock fishing is mainly what i do.Im wanting a reel mainly to use for the beach and possibly on the rocks as well which will hoy a lead further than a slosh 30.
Any suggestions will be grestfully appreciated!!

I use a slosh 30 for the rock edges but a good in between has to be the penn 525 mag. There great casting reels and as tough as bulls lugs for the rocks.
    Hope this helps mate

Ive been toying with the idea of a penn 525 mag or the slosh 20!!
Is there much difference between the two??

Bought myself a slosh20 the other day, tried it out yesterday (with the red brake blocks in) and was hitting 75 yards off the beach...i think with a bit practice and removal of the blocks will see me hitting a lot further although fishing from beaches is'nt all about distance..
I normally use fixed spool's so still a multiplier noob but love the slosh20

the 525 is very good for casting i would think its better then the sl20 for casting and can be speeded up and slowed down using the mags

With the new 525 Mag Mk2 coming out soon there may well be a lot of the old 525's up for sale as the tackle tarts trade up.

Personally I prefer the Penns, I find they sit lower on the rod than the Slosh giving a better grip of the spool. Casting wise I don't think there's much in it unless you are a big hitter in which cast the Penn probably has the edge.

Dont think the Penn is worth double to be honest, i looked at both and had money to buy the 525 but opted for the slosh20..

I forgot about the slosh 20 thier spot on mate i used one for years before the penn and they will chuck long a long way. i used to pendulam cast with mine and i would say they cast just as well as the the penn.

dnt get 1 ov them the drags r crap i would stay away from ambasserdor now a penn 525 mag is ideal m8 you wont go wrong with 1 ov these and like some1 mentioned they will probebly be a few 4 sale as the new 1s come out but the tackle shops will reduce the old1s any way so its probebly not worth buying a second hand1

Penn 535's are great for the rough stuff but also the 525's as already mentioned will cope well with beach/mixed ground fishing.

well dunno were you get the bit about the drags, i have1 6000, 4 6500`s, 3 6600`s , couple 5500`s and all are used on the beach, some have been over a 20 year period, the youngest are 4 years old now, never seen a problem with any of the drags
