slosh 30 for the heavy stuff and 525 mag for the rivers and beaches is my choice.

I agree, owned both and both are spot on reels that are pretty bomb proof

              reels

Slosh or penn 525-535 pretty much covers it

Yip had one but only any good on clean ground. Mine bust when i fished a beach covered in weed.
Good fast retrieve and a nice reel if like i said you are going to be fishing clean ground.

Yeah just read a few bad reports on them. Im now looking at either a Spro 460 or a Mitchell 7000. Torn between them.

Basically I want something not too expensive that is good for casting at distance.

For rough ground i use a penn 535, very tough/reliable reel with quite a fast retrieve.
For clean ground i use an abu 6500 c3 mag elite.
For boat angling i use penn tld 15.
It's a thin line that seperates an Angler from a madman standing on the beach in january at midnight in -5 degrees with a northerly wind blowing in your face

slosh is a great reel for the money and rough ground

original 6500 blue elite for clean ground and distance
