You do know it is the Tall Ships there this weekend, the place is heaving and the rip-off council are charging £10 to park anywhere near the Headland or Seaton.
I'd steer clear and try elsewhere if I was you, even if you get in and get parked don't think it will be much fun with all the tourists crowding the beaches.CLIP IT AND WHACK IT

and not to mention if you do go to hartlepool fishing you aint got as much choice of marks as you did a the steetly is out of the question the huegh is closed so for piers that only leaves the piolet pier the middleton or the notrh gare but you do have the beech right along the prom on the headland right from the lighthouse corner to parton beech then you also have the staincliffe hotel in seaton tackle shops are northeast tackle just outside seaton, friarage on the headland and then john f gents in the town hope that helps ...dazpersonal best pier:2003 xmas eve the hugh 12lb4oz

I've been to the North Gare on the Tees estuary twice this week and not a thing. Over the two visits there must have been 20 other lads out there and only saw 4 Macky and 1 Bass being pulled out. The Pilot is OK a couple of hours up and down high tide, Middleton Pier.... each time I've been its been full of kids messing about and the last time I was there half a dozen were eyeing up mine and another blokes kit so rather then lettng them borrow it permanently we both left. As for the Heugh, you can still get to the end but it means climbing over the barrier, just be careful of the family jewels when you strech over the top edge.
