  • south shields pier good news

good news for all anglers who like to fish pier the gateman had a meeting with there boss and decided to let anglers stay on pier when gate is close at your own risk port of tyne will not be liable for anyone on the pier when gates are closed this will be reviewed after two weeks as they have been told to report on the amount of rubish on pier if it continue then they will go back to kicking us off when gates close l know and so do you that its not us as most of the mess is mackrel rappers all over the place so lets hope some of them read this and clean there mess befor it gets to the stage were they stop fishing altogether as on tynemouth

Hi I'm sorry to say but most of the mindless chavs
that leave all the mess and cause all the grief probably can't read. And to be perfectly honest wouldn't care if the fishing was stopped as they only come out maybe 2-3 weeks a year if that.I think maccy season is some sort of Chav holiday

        s/s

seems hard to beleve port of tyne management would discuss turning a blind eye it would leave them open to Litigation. they could not officially anounce this even if they said they are not liable they could get sued
old anglers never die -they just smell that way

did the pier bloke not say something along the lines of if the pier isnt kept cleaner, over the next two weeks, the fishing will be stopped altogether!
but only until the makrel season is over, winter fishing will be back to norm.
not all fishermen smell, just browny!!

Are there no litter bins on the pier as on Tynemouth pier. At least the proper anglers will have the sense to use them

Plenty of bins on the pier. Whether the tinsel tossers know what a bin is for is another question.

With the nights drawing in then hopefully the problem will start to solve itself. Personally I much prefer fishing off the beach to being on a pier, but I rate Shields as one of the top marks in the area for consistency and it would be a crying shame if the low lifes were to end up costing us another venue
