might be worth a bash ???
I'v never tried spinning of S.T.Marys, guessing you would try off the gully
north'ish of the lighthouse, ??? My old man used to spin off there years ago, with an old fly rod that had its last 6 inches snapped off, he put a new end ring on , used a hook with an old milk bottle top wrapped around it, with a few split shot for weight, and he said him and his mate caught loads ??? I dont know if this was at high tide or low,, Im guessing high tide is best, but dont quote me on that, at least the seal watchers might have buggerd off and give you 3 hours P&Q , mind you the Old man is 76, so he's talking 50 odd years ago,,Tich

Soz Brown ,,, Im guessing you are talking about mackerel, I like fishing the pipe , about 2 thirds along just on the bend thers a bit of a gully you can spin off also you can chuck a line out into sand ,, 35/ 40 yards chuck ,, aim towards the lighthouse good for flatties, so whilst you spin , you can keep an eye on your beach caster ,, early morning is the best time, just as its getting light, Its a great start to the dayTich
