  • Holderness Weed

Planning my first trip of the summer since I've graduated uni and have some free time on my hands. Going to head down to Holderness but reading some of the recent reports weed has been a massive problem lately.

The last report I read was from the 30th, does anybody know if it's improved any in the last couple of days?
    Drowning worms since 2007.

I wouldn't have thought so, Gary. These southerly winds will have made it worse.
To get away from dragons and catch monsters.

hi two of us fished aldbrough friday afternoon 4ish until 1am only managed to get between us 2 small smoothies,1brill,1flounder and 1dab,all fish were taken on crab exept the brill which took crab legs and a makerel strip cocktail.
we fished 2 rods each 1 long 1 in the gutter, WEED WAS A MAJOR PROBLEM!!!!! bringing in up to 10 lbs of grassy weed each cast there was also a lot of red/brown algea about 50 - 80yds out which was making things dillicult it looks like slime coming up your line on the retrieve.
wind was coming from the southwest about 10mph.
hope this may help you make yuor mind up.

Fished Dimlington last night in to this morning. Weed was not a problem as feared, a few small bits of it during the flood but it was gone completely by the top of the tide in to the flood.

Still caught no fish, the crabs were out in force and were stripping baits within minutes all night long. Few locals were fishing too but nobody had anything.
